What we'll comment on, on the record

The mechanics of the round-up program, the relationship between Freemoval and LoadUp, how the partner referral model works, where the program operates and where it plans to expand, and our reading of the broader illegal dumping research literature.

For partner-specific questions, we'll defer to the partner organization unless they've cleared us to comment.

What we can share

How the program is structured and funded, how partner organizations refer families, the markets we are active in, and the sources behind the public statistics we cite.

What we won't do

We don't identify individual families who receive pickups, name partner organizations without their consent, or share LoadUp loader earnings data at the individual level. We're happy to discuss aggregate figures and the program's structure.

The short version

If you're writing a quick piece and need the one-paragraph version: Freemoval is a social impact program of LoadUp, the nationwide junk removal marketplace, that funds free junk removal pickups for households referred by nonprofit and community partners. It launched in metro Atlanta in 2026 and plans to expand nationwide. The program is funded primarily by optional round-ups at LoadUp checkout, with 100% of round-ups funding pickups at standard LoadUp rates. The thesis is that illegal dumping is a logistics problem, not a behavior problem, and that supply-side intervention (free pickups at the moment of need) prevents dumping more efficiently than demand-side enforcement (cameras, fines, PSAs).
