Bridgeport, Connecticut takes a two-track approach to bulk waste: a year-round Transfer Station at 475 Asylum Street where residents self-haul any time Monday through Saturday, plus a seasonal Household Bulk Trash Pickup Program that runs two rounds per year on dates assigned by council district. The city does not provide routine weekly curbside bulk collection — if you can’t make it to the Transfer Station and missed your district’s seasonal pickup, your options are donation, paid pickup, or waiting for the next seasonal round. Weekly trash collection is standard; recycling is bi-weekly on the same day. Connecticut’s E-Cycles program covers electronics statewide. This guide covers every option for City of Bridgeport residents.

Bridgeport residents have several free disposal pathways. The city does not provide weekly curbside bulk pickup, so understanding which option fits your situation matters more here than in cities with routine bulk collection. Each option below has eligibility rules and accepted item lists; deeper details follow in the sections after.
