Omaha, Nebraska provides municipal trash service to residential households through a 10-year contract with FCC Environmental Services, funded through general city taxes with no separate monthly bill to residents. However, Omaha does not have regular curbside bulk pickup. For large items, the city offers two free annual cleanup events (Spring and Fall) where residents self-haul to neighborhood drop-off sites. Glass also requires separate drop-off (not accepted in curbside recycling). This guide covers every disposal option for Omaha residents.

Omaha’s primary pathway for large item disposal is its semi-annual free cleanup events at rotating neighborhood locations. Both are free and open to all Omaha households with no neighborhood association membership required. Residents must transport items to the event location themselves and unload without assistance.

Omaha provides weekly trash and bi-weekly recycling to single-family households and multi-family buildings up to four units, funded through general city taxes (no separate bill). Service is provided through FCC Environmental Services under a 10-year contract.
