Trash and recycling

Syracuse provides weekly trash collection and regular recycling service. Use the City’s interactive address map at syr.gov to find your specific collection day. Carts must be out by 6 AM. Holiday delays apply for select holidays; service runs one day late for the remainder of the week.

Recycling accepted: Plastic bottles and containers, mixed paper, flattened cardboard, aluminum cans, tin, and glass. Items must be clean, empty, and dry. Do not bag recyclables.

Unacceptable in any cart: Insecticides, pesticides, paints, solvents, gasoline, motor oil. These require separate HHW disposal.
